Andrew Levi “Andy” Galloway, 78, passed away on April 1, 2026, after a brief illness. A wake will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 5–7 p.m. at Hutchings Funeral Home in Macon, Georgia, followed by a funeral service on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Bethel CME Church. Andy was born November 9, 1947, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Eula Malone and George Galloway. Andy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who dedicated his life to serving his community and supporting those he loved. Andy graduated with honors from Syracuse University and Cornell University. He went on to a distinguished career spanning more than 50 years as a hospital administrator, most recently with The Medical Center of Central Georgia.
Andy will be remembered for his gregarious personality, kindness, humor, and generosity. He was an active member of Bethel CME Church and was involved with several civic organizations, including the Boule of Macon, 100 Black Men of Middle Georgia and Homosophians. He is survived by his wife, Patricia D. Galloway; his children, Shanda C. Galloway Botts (Jaman Botts) and Andria N. Galloway; his grandchildren, Ainsley Sedalia, Levi Sedalia, Logan Botts, and Winston Botts; and his brother, Benjamin Galloway. He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of choice. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
